What is Raw Hair?

Our 1b raw hairs are single donor hair and our #613 hairs are virgin single donor, each with their cuticles running in the same direction and in tact. No two bundles of hair are entirely alike and because of this, each bundle may have a different texture, pattern and colour although we'll try out best for uniformity within each order.

Whilst the hair industry has many different terminologies for raw hair, we've always openly state that our raw hair is defined as hairs that are entirely raw and unprocessed meaning our 1b hair extensions are made from 100% unprocessed, natural human hair. They have not undergone any chemical treatments, such as colouring, perming, or relaxing. The textures you see are achieved naturally or through a gentle steaming process, which does not involve harsh chemicals and still qualifies as raw hair as the origin hairs are raw only, with no blends or synthetic mixtures. Only our 613 hairs are virgin, as they have been chemically processed (with bleach) to attain their blonde colour.

Some may question if steam processing disqualifies hair from being raw but we disagree. If this is the case, then using heat to straighten/curl hair should also disqualify hair from being raw on the same basis.

How long does the hair last?

With proper care, all our hair products are designed to last 2–5 years or even longer. Longevity depends on how often you wear them and how well you maintain them.

What grade is your hair?

We do not believe in ‘grading systems’ of hair as these are usually gimmicks in the market with no real proof of what the ‘grades’ they claim to be are.

You’ll usually find such grading systems (with no proven criteria to grade by), from retailers who believe that offering unauthentic/ mixed hairs with foreign fibres to customers as acceptable. This grading system usually starts low in quality and increases in number as with its quality.

Instead we ensure that we provide the highest quality hairs available which we can guarantee quality, durability + longevity. Although we understand hair quality will differ amongst vendors, we truly believe that so long as hairs are 100% ethically sourced from their origin countries and also from healthy donors without the hairs being compromised or mixed with foreign fibres, you can’t fall short on the quality!

With that being said, we ensure that we continually source and test from our most trusted suppliers around Asia and provide nothing that would fall short of our own personal standards. Our hairs are raw virgin hairs to the highest quality available.

Can I dye my extensions?

You can bleach, dye and process our raw hair and still be impressed with its quality thereafter! We recommend a qualified professional colouring the hair for you to ensure the integirty of the hair quality is maintained.

Do you offer colouring services?

Unfortunately we do not offer any custom colouring services so we would suggest that this would need to be arranged by a professional after you receive your order as we only sell raw hair in their natural 1b colour.

Do you offer consultations?

How do I know which length to choose?

How many bundles would I need?

For lengths 10" - 22", we would recommend anything between one to three bundles of hair depending on how full/natural looking you would like your installation.

With longer lengths of 24" onwards, we would recommend at least three or four bundles as the longer the hair length, the less width of a bundle is available since each bundle will always make a net weight of approximately 100 grams.

This is personal preference but you can always get in touch with our team if you would like some more advice!

What are the differences between each origin?

What's the difference between a closure and frontal?

What colour lace should I choose?

Are your wigs glueless?

A glueless wig is a wig that stays secure without glue or adhesive. It’s designed with adjustable straps, combs, or an elastic band for a snug, comfortable fit. Our glueless wigs are designed to wear daily and stay secure throughout the day with minimal adjustment needed. They’re perfect for beginners—easy to wear, take off, and style without any fuss.

Specifically, our 2x6, 4x4, 5x5 and 6x6 Lace Wigs can be worn completely glueless!

Can I see which textures you offer?

Please contact us on WhatsApp for our texture sheet which shows all the types of curl patterns (textures) we offer. Our instagram page (@rawhairoutlet) also has examples of customers wearing our hair textures which will always be titled in the caption.

If you do not see your desired texture, please get in touch with us via email and we can custom create your desired texture.

Single drawn hair vs Double drawn hair

Different Types of Hair Bundles: Understanding SD, DD, and SDD

When shopping for hair extensions, it is important to know the different types of hair bundles available. Here we explain the differences between Single Drawn (SD), Double Drawn (DD), and Super Double Drawn (SDD) hair bundles.

Single Drawn (SD) Bundles

Single Drawn hair means the extensions contain multiple lengths of hair mixed into the extensions, resulting in hair that is thickest at the top, tapers at the middle and is thin on the ends.

SD bundles consist of 50% longest length hair and 50% shorter length hair. For example, a 20″ bundle will have 50% 20″ hair, 25% 18″-16″ hair, and 25% 16″-14″ hair. This results in a thinner bundle, making it best suited for shorter lengths up to 12″.

Double Drawn (DD) Bundles

Double drawn hair contains a bigger percentage of single hairs that are all the same length making the piece of hair thicker and fuller from top to bottom.

DD bundles consist of 70% longest length hair and 30% shorter length hair. For example, a 20″ bundle will have 70% 20″ hair, 20% 18″-16″ hair, and 10% 16″-14″ hair. This results in a medium-full bundle, making it ideal for lengths from 12″ up to 18″.

Super Double Drawn (SDD) Bundles

SDD bundles consist of 90% longest length hair and 10% shorter length hair. For example, a 20″ bundle will have 90% 20″ hair, 5% 18″ hair, and 5% 16″ hair. This results in a very full bundle, making it suitable for lengths from 20″ up to 40″.

Can I request a specific shade of hair?

Please note that because our hairs are raw hairs, no two bundles will be exactly the same as each bundle is solely collected from one donor only which gives us little control over bundle colours. Our team will always try their best to pick the closest match in colour within any order as long as stock/inventory levels allow. This is very common and stylists may advise that if the colour discrepancy is not too drastic, when all bundles have been installed, the blend will still look quite natural (depending on placement) and may not be obvious at all!

I've seen a few grey hair strands in my order. Is this normal?

Yes this is completely normal! The same can be said about mild discoloration or the appearance of a few grey hairs. A grey strand or two in your hair extensions is not a fatal flaw as our raw hairs are ethically taken straight from our raw donors who may have grown a few strands of grey hairs just as anyone would.

What's the difference between 'raw' and 'virgin' hair?

I've noticed a distinctive scent on my double drawn bundles. Is this normal?

Yes this is very normal. A lot of our Southeast Asian hairs (especially our double drawn hair) usually does have a little distinctive scent. This is simply due to the natural environment that the hair is sourced in each respective countries such as Vietnam, Burma and Cambodia. Our suppliers do ensure that they thoroughly wash and condition the hair as best they can without using any chemical treatments and regular after care whilst you wear your hair extensions will also help eradicate this scent.

What's available for Next Day Delivery?

We’ve made it easier for our customers to check our real-time stock levels. Every item that we have in stock including any spare custom-made items hair will now show as ‘ADD TO CART’ instead of the usual 'PRE-ORDER NOW' button for express/standard delivery without any delays. If you do not have a specific length preference, you can click through option until you find any products available for ‘ADD TO CART’.

However, anything that we still do not physically have in stock for immediate dispatch will show as pre-order. This means the description box will show a specific amount of time to be added upon our 3-5 day shipping period as the item is made on demand for you. If you still choose to select express delivery, your chosen shipping label will still be used once we are ready to ship which will avoid further delays.

Do you offer Same Day Delivery/Collection?

Yes, we may sometimes offer collection depending on availability for non Pre-Order Items. We operate between our London hub and Birmingham warehouse. If we have no stock in London, and our Birmingham warehouse is too far for you to travel, we still do offer same day delivery with Royal Mail starting from approximately £100.00 to London with a 5 hour delivery time on average if ordered before 3pm.

All collection orders must be paid in full via bank transfer only and we would need to see proof of i.d with an address upon collection. If you would like to proceed, please get in touch with us via email along with a screenshot of your desired basket at the checkout stage.

Alternatively super fast Next Day Delivery options online are available online for delivery between Monday-Friday as long as you place your order before 12pm on any items that are eligible for next day delivery online.

Please remember pre-order items means they are not physically in stock and cannot be dispatched immediately.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes - we ship worldwide with a tracked and signed delivery service.

How soon will I receive my order?

We have a delivery page which provides full information on delivery for both UK and international orders.

I haven't received my tracking information?

As per our delivery timeframes, please be sure to remember our shipping works on business days only and your order could be dispatched on the second to last working day in order to meet our delivery promise to you. We will always send you a shipping notification via email once we are ready to ship along with full tracking information.

If by your final working day you have not received your order, please contact us for any update only then.

Please also be sure to remember any custom/pre-order delivery time frames.

Do I have to pay customs charge for an international order?

Unfortunately we're unable to advise what customs charges may be applied to international shipments. Any customs charges are applied at the discretion of the carrier and local laws and all customs charges will be payable by the customer and will not be covered by us. For more accurate information, we’d suggest getting in touch with your local customs office so you’re not surprised if there are any unexpected delivery charges at your end.

Is it too late to cancel/amend my order?

We’re sorry to hear you no longer need your order. As mentioned online, orders begin processing immediately to ensure the fastest delivery possible for our customers and for this reason, we're unable to cancel orders. You would need to accept the delivery and then raise a return request online which we will review.

After your return arrives at our dedicated returns address, your order will be cancelled and refunded minus any applicable postage and transaction fee’s (10%) as explained online on our t’s and c’s. In regard to transaction fees, we are charged by our payment processors e.g. Visa who take a percentage of our sales and are non-refundable back to us also in the event of a cancellation/refund.

Any custom made/pre-orders are not eligible for return or cancellation.

Once returned, refunds can take up to 5-7 working days to reflect back on your statement.

What's your returns policy?

We exercise a very strict quality control process to ensure that our clients receive only the best quality hair. There are no returns upon items which have not been returned to our specified returns address (different from our mailing address) and not without an initial assessment. Unauthorised returns will be refused and kept until a new shipping fee to the original address on the receipt has been paid.

We can only accept the item back for a return and so long as its successfully returned back to us within 14 days of the date your order was delivered. The item also needs to remain in pristine condition, with the curl pattern undisturbed/pulled - allowing it to be fit for resale. We will not accept any returns or exchanges of any products where the seal holding the hair together has been untied or cut off.

Refunds

For unwanted/change of mind orders requesting a full/partial refund back to an original payment method rather than store credit or exchange, such orders will need to be raised within 14 days of receipt and will also be subjected to a payment processing fee of 10% as these fees are also not refunded back to us from the chosen payment processor selected at checkout. Postage fees will also be deducted before a refund is authorised. If you would prefer store credit to returns for change of preference, this will be valued in full to be used within 12 months.

If, for any reason you are unhappy due to the defect of your product(s) purchased, after assessment we will agree to a full refund or exchange for another product of an equal value.

All returns shipping and handling costs will be at the customer's expense therefore we suggest sending through a courier that provides tracking information and delivery confirmation since we are not responsible for loss or damage of parcels.

We must receive the merchandise before an exchange/refund can be made. In the specific case of items within our Wig Collection and any other items titled 'custom' or tagged as 'Pre-Order', they will not be accepted for returns or exchanges as they are custom made.

A mandatory new postage fee will have to be paid.

Alternatively If, for any reason you are unhappy due to the defect of your product(s) purchased, after assessment we will agree to a full refund or exchange for another product of an equal value.

How long do returns take?

We encourage you to return using any reliable courier and be sure to collect proof of postage as without this we have no guarantee of posting. You can track the progress of your return, using the tracking number that will be on the receipt you're given when you drop off your parcel.

A return should take no longer than 7-10 working days to be processed back with us and refunded to your account. This includes transit time to the warehouse and processing times with your chosen payment method.

Can I have an update on my order?
